      Jerry,

I pulled up on you and Larry reading the kid the riot act on Sunday while he was retrieving the blue rec boat.  What little hide chewing I overheard was awesome and very well deserved.  I sternly lectured the kids after the rescue on Saturday but, it paled in comparison to what you were dishing out Jerry.  Lol!

I continued down river and retrieved the green boat above turkey creek and left it at turkey creek.  When I got off the river at the takeout, the lady in the station wagon pulled up and asked if I was the guy and where was the boat.  I let her know where it was and she left. Not before I gave her a piece of my mind concerning the kids actions on Saturday.  However, I’m fairly certain that both you and Larry would have been far more direct.

A few of us from the KC area are planning to hit the Wakarusa wave below Clinton lake in Lawrence this weekend, provided the cfs gets somewhere in the 1000 range.  It’s a great play spot, one of the very few around here.  You’re welcome to join in.

A small group is leaving Columbia on Wednesday evening and blasting to a hotel in Paducah.  Thursday am we will head to whatever is running on or near the Cumberland Plateau, preferably BSFC, level permitting.  Thursday night we will be staying north of Crossville, TN and Friday we will hit something local to the plateau or on the way to NOC.  Tellico would be nice if levels come in!  We shall see.  Friday, Saturday and Sunday we will be staying at NOC but have made arrangements seperately from the group.

If anyone is interested in trying to meet up on Thursday for a paddle, hit me up.

      Chuck,

Thank you ever so much!  I see some nice frosty, hoppy cold ones in your not so distant future.

Great knowledge was imparted and a good time was had by all.  Many thanks to all participants and planners who made this event possible 2 years running.  If I had to choose between the beginners/intermediate clinic, SWRC clinic,  races or trips, the SWRC would be my choice every time.  Do it for everyone you paddle with, not for yourself.

I have a Flying Squirrel 85.  It is very fast, almost to the point of unnerving.  Punching through waves is easy peasy, as advertised.  In big water, point, paddle and go, you will make your line.  It turns well but, I have no comparison to other creekers/ runners, as this is the first I have paddled. Edging is great!  As far as  I’m concerned, I’m paddling a Barcolounger/Ferrari.  Love it!

I will be @ D about 10:00 am.  I’m hoping to do a bomber run if someone else is there and plan to meet up with you by 12:30 for an afternoon run or two.  The water  precip data looks great.   I can’t wait!

Is size 12 your normal shoe size or, did you half size up when you purchased them?  Thanks!

      I really like my job.

      I have a great employer.

I am treated and compensated more than fair.

Unfortunately, my schedule has once again taken precedence over my juvenile, slacker, me, me, me attitude.

      I hate being responsible.

My new Squirrel hates me being responsible as well.

      I’m out for this weekend.

      Bummer!

I would love to check that machine out during the beginners clinic when I’m out there in May, if possible.

Raymond,  Did you fabricate your paddling machine or is it store bought?  I have been know to reverse engineer a thing or two and make improvements while getting paid to do so.  Unfortunately, I’m not so creative that I can pull a mechanical engineering idea out of my bum.  I need a starting point

Sweet video!  Thanks for sharing.  If it weren’t for that nasty little thing called work, I would love to make some commando trips with you.
