Team River Runner’s (TRR) Mission – To provide all active duty, veterans, and their families an opportunity to find health, healing, community purpose, and new challenges through adventure and adaptive paddle sports! TRR is a national organization with various Chapters, including St. Louis and Columbia, Missouri areas. See TRR’s full values & vision statement.
MWA has a long-standing relationship with TRR, which offers a way for the MWA paddling community to share the gift of rivers with veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much. MWA collaboration with TRR is an opportunity to welcome veterans into our paddling family.
TRR offers paddle sport experiences in pools, flat water, moving water, and whitewater. These opportunities are local, regional, and national. Veteran and non-veteran volunteers are always needed as planners, helpers, safety, instructors, cheerleaders / companions, shuttle, donors, etc. The benefits of TRR include social support, finding emotional strength, and re-creating personal identity, as well as athletic activity and time in nature.
