      Raymond,

We would love to have you as an instructor this year at the clinic! Additional help is always needed/wanted come clinic time 🙂 I am starting to firm up instructors and send the request out for safety within the week actually. I will put your name down as an instructor. Shoot me an email at clinicdirector@missouriwhitewater.org or johnholdmeier at gmail.com

      Thanks. -JH

Plan is still on. Saint is super low, but we will make the most of it! We are meeting at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning at D bridge. I look forward to seeing you all there!

I want to thank everyone who helped out this year. Especially Kelly, Casara, and John Niebling. Kelly is a wizard with spreadsheets, and everyone knows how amazing Casara is with her web abilities. John answered all of my annoying questions. Also thanks to the people who helped sort groups, the instructors, Diane and Nancy helping in the a.m., Dan and JoJo getting the gear down and back, the safety boaters… Everyone helping made it so much easier! So thank you all so much!!! It’s really amazing to see what a group of like minded people can do when everyone is so giving and helpful. I think we should do it again next year!

      Thanks, – JH

Michael, we do not have a time set for sure for Saturday morning. I would imagine around 8 or 9 sometime but I will check with Rob as we get closer here. I’ll post here and send out an e-mail when I know a for sure time and location (I would imagine D or Millstream)

It appears as though I missed out this morning 🙂 What Bling said is accurate. I have reserved site # 46 for safety/instructors with plans to reserve more or come up with a back up plan as soon as it was full. Here’s the thing… I have only had one person ask to camp there so far. So yes, we still have room at 46 for safety and instructors up to a certain point, and then we can go from there. Party will be at D (rain or no rain I assume) and all will be good! 🙂

Thanks for beating me to the punch Curtis and John! Rain is good! Clinic director says it’s a go unless something drastic happens between now and Saturday morning.

Jon had such an important impact on so many. The time I got to spend with him during my month of intense instructor training (lead by Jon, Rob and Anne) and years teaching with him at the NOC has forever changed my life for the better. Whether it was our “unplanned” overnight experience on the Chattooga to teach us about being prepared for anything or walking into the instruction fort during a nasty drought to find Jon and Herm riding boats off the roof while spraying a hose with foam taped to the bow of Jon’s Lil Joe (there is video somewhere) Jon was always instigating adventure. Almost all of my favorite photos of myself boating were taken by Jon…he was such an amazing photographer. He was the type to lead by his example and always made me want to better myself to emulate him. Nobody has had more of an impact on the way I think about this sport…Jon will always be present in my thought and approach every time I get to teach someone to paddle. JC wasn’t one of the good ones, he was one of the best.

Sheldon, somebody beat us to reserving the group site for the clinic. I am hoping to work something out similar to last year. I will let you know as soon as I know more. Also, I will be sending out a message very soon asking for volunteers. Thanks!

      Charles,

I am organizing a re-cert on the Saint this spring with Rob from the NOC. I think it is going to be the first weekend of May (Saturday the 2nd I believe). I need to get this finalized and I will post it here and on the events page.

      I’ll keep ya posted.
