Thanks for the advice. I assume Lesterville to the K bridge would be an easy one-day float.

I went to that MDC access a year ago and met some MDC people who just happened to be there. They told me the river channel changed and you had to drag your stuff a half mile to get to the water now. They were looking to reroute the road to the water. But I don’t think they were getting much support from Jeff City. Seems a waste for MDC to spend the money to buy land for public access and then give up and leave it unusable. I wouldn’t mind paying some private person five or ten bucks to let me put in, but I hate to rent canoes when I have three of ‘em.

Remember…  There are a lot of deer hunters on the Lower Rock Creek Forest Service lands when the season is open.

I agree. Unless some powerful politician gets involved, they can claim they don’t have the money. If the right politician points a bony finger and says, “Thou shalt fix it,” the money will be found.

I was disappointed that, during a two-hour meeting, they talked for an hour and a half and only listened for 30 minutes. I was told the purpose of the meeting was to find out what Crane Lake meant to the community. I drove a long way and I would have liked to hear from a lot of other attendees.

I plan to be there.  I hope there is a free box of donuts for the person who drives the farthest to the meeting.  It will be a five hour drive for me.

I spent the second week of this month at our cabin on Hwy E.  In fifty years, I don’t think I have seen Marble Creek any lower.

As a biologist, I took Mole Day to mean something else. I thought I was supposed to wear a star on my nose all day.

Does anyone ever use this site to judge levels?

It’s downstream at E bridge. I just wonder if it is a good correlation.

I just got this, and posted my comment:

Thanks for the help.  I tried to find a place to comment on their Facebook page, but couldn’t find an easy way to comment.  I sent an email to Supervisor Schwenke, asking them to post Facebook story where the public can add comments, but I don’t know if they will.  I suspect the best way to have your voice heard is to call or send an email to Supervisor Schwenke and/or Becky Ewing.

      Thanks again.

Also, any help we can get to request from the same Forest Service people to repair the dam at Crane Lake would be appreciated.
