Thank you for sharing your insight, Chuck. A couple of us here in Fredericktown are going to make an effort on this one I believe.

There is a Rock Creek along D highway, Dan. Little Rock, Lower Rock and then plain Rock Creek.

Wachita makes a great start for a full upper and lower run. Last time I ran it, there was someone building a cabin next to the shut in. He didn’t say anything to me about passing through, but just be mindful of a land owner there.

Water was lower today. No barb wire. A bit brushier than I remember.

Its really hard to say if it will be above 0 (3 ft) next weekend. The river is on the rise from the rains overnight, but who knows how much it goes up. There is also a good chance for storms this weekend so that could help big time.

The river at 3-3.5 ft is fun. Some wave/hole features begin to appear (Little Drop near the end is great at lower levels). A swim at this level is probably more invigorating than terrifying. With lower flows, self rescue is really easy.

I’ve heard a rumor that a certain individual who may or may not work at the campground will shuttle for a few bucks.

If you plan to paddle late in the evenings on a Tuesday or Thursday (4:30-5pm) I don’t mind helping with a shuttle. Just text or call me: 573 561 3887

The hike JW mentioned is actually a really nice one. I’ve done it quite a few times after a solo run. Just be sure to hide your gear somewhere so the boat gremlins don’t take it or leave someone at the take out.

I’ll be looking to paddle Sunday, pretty early. The weather experts are calling for nearly an inch of rain Saturday so if that’s the case, I’ll be looking to hit up Marble Creek. 573 561 3887

A small group of us are going to be taking some new paddlers on the upper for a Training Day and time-pending will probably run the lower after a short break. Will probably put on roughly 9:30-10

Anything ever come of this? Is the hazard clear?

Sounds like the brewing of a lawsuit!
