Thee is nobody more deserving of this act of kindness than you, my friend. You have helped so many, including myself, and this was just a simple way for us to say “Thank you.” Hope to SYOTR again very soon.

Yes that is correct. According to Sam’s post, the Forestry Service is requiring them to have everyone out of the campground and picnic areas by noon today and all of the gates will be locked.

If I paddle this weekend, it will probably be on Saturday, but I have seen a few people say they are paddling Sunday. If you haven’t already joined the Missouri Whitewater Association Facebook group, I would recommend it. People seem to post a lot more about paddling dates and times on Facebook than they do here on the message board. Hope to run into you on the river sometime soon.

Welcome to the group, Chris. I am still a first-year paddler myself. The first day of the clinic this past April was my second day on moving water in my whitewater boat. I have made a lot of mistakes in the past 8 or 9 months, but I have also learned a bunch. I will promise you one thing….you will not meet a more friendly or helpful group of people than the members of the MWA. Everyone I have met has been super-nice and always willing to give advice. I hope to SYOTR sometime soon.

I’m interested in making the Ocoee run on Sunday. Probably won’t be able to make it on Saturday due to work. I know you said to email you in the post above, but I can’t seem to find your email address on here. My email is craneop@ymail.com if you would rather contact me that way. I have made three trips down the middle, but haven’t ran all of the rapids. I think I am ready to try most of them now tho. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Just keep an eye one this message board, and I’m sure you will find plenty of opportunities to paddle with some fine folks. Any time the water is up, there is always someone paddling on the Saint. I’m just a first year paddler myself, but I have met some great folks at the Saint and every single one of them has been friendly and very helpful. Hope to run into you on the river sometime soon.

I’ve been watching the radar, and it looks promising. I boated with Chris Gagnon on Tuesday, but it was a bit rocky in places. Tomorrow is looking much more promising. I just hope it isn’t too high for me to boat it safely.

I just noticed the bump on the gauge myself. I’m gonna check it in the morning and hopefully it’ll still be up. It would be great to get a run in tomorrow.

I got there a little after 10 this morning. I ran into Chris Gagnon and we did a lap. It was a lot of scraping, but still better than not paddling, so I’ll take it.

Jeff, we will be camping Saturday night at the campground also. I’ve seen your name on here several times, so I’m assuming you are very active in the MWA. I hope I get the chance to meet you this weekend.
