      I haven’t been on this site for awhile and am saddened to read of Freddie’s passing. He had one of those larger than life personalities, was welcoming to me during my early years on the Saint and always made a day on the river more fun. Although he went too soon I’m thinking that Freddie probably squeezed more living into his time on this earth than most people who die old.

      My personal cutoff for “warm” is 50 but a rising gauge and sunny is a good thing.

      Enjoyed the video – thanks. You made the right call. Dry suits are a must this time of year – a lesson I learned the hard way many years ago like your friend.  Glad you made the best of it with a paddle/hike combo. Btw – I’m thinking Chuck probably deserves as much or more credit than the state for trail maintenance.  Happy holidays.

      This is really sad news. Jim was one of my very favorite people on the river. If there is a paddling heaven he’s definitely in it.

      Spoke with Jerry this AM.  He and family OK since they live south of town. Luckily, he missed by 10 minutes being on I-55 when all hell broke loose.  As further proof of his survival, he said he was boating yesterday.
