I’m driving in Thursday to the campground near NOC and will paddle all 4 days. I’m fine with either a warmup run on the nanty on Friday, or something a little more challenging as long as it’s not too crazy.

Tim Olson and Adam Kral will be there Friday through Monday. We’ve made our own arrangements for lodging.

This shows Roselle gauge got half an inch at about 3pm, and this confirms the precipitation, but it barely moved the level at Roselle, matching Chuck’s description. The most interesting thing is that you can make out a tiny blip of rain right over the Millstream area in this map of the last 24 hours cumulative precipitation:
I’m desperate for some paddle time but this doesn’t give me a lot of confidence that it’ll be runnable tomorrow. However, you all would know better than I would. Thoughts?

I’m from KC too(Lee’s Summit), and headed to the Saint tomorrow morning. Getting an early start (6:30am or so…) to make it there for a 1pm float. Looks like it’ll be a great level sat and sun. If you’re interested in tagging along shoot me a PM.

Karen, once it’s decided for sure what river we’re running Friday, a meeting time and place will be posted here. I’m personally hoping for a more forgiving river on Friday for all of us newer boaters to warm up on, and then ramp up the difficulty from there.
As far as reservations for rafts on the Ocoee, I know last year a group decided sometime Sunday afternoon to do a raft trip on the Ocoee on Monday and they were able to book it. It’s clearly better to book early, but it seems even if you don’t get it nailed down until you’re out there, you should still be able to make it happen.

It’s been a couple years for me now, too. Can’t say I miss it much. What made you decide to take the plunge, Sara?

Myself, Adam Kral, and Ron Duckworth will be there. We’ve made our own arrangements in Bryson City. We’re all really looking forward to paddling out there with everyone.

There are alternatives to photobucket that don’t require registering for an account or linking any facebook profiles. One is imgur. Just go there, click the big “upload images” button at the top, and browse, drag, or paste your image from your computer. Once it’s done you’ll see a page with the image on it and a panel on the right titled “Share this image”, with a field called “Direct Link” and a button to copy the link to your clipboard so you can paste it here in the forums.

I’d like to help out with this and try out the slalom clinic. Do I need to sign up anywhere, or just show up?
Also, I noticed an error on the online race registration page. It says the wire-stringing day is “Saturday March 18”, but March 18 is actually the Friday before race weekend. Maybe a typo and meant to say March 12?

Hahaha I love that my boat got a shout out instead of me! Fitting since I wasn’t in it when it had that perfect line at diamond splitter 🙂

Sarah, I’ll be there but I won’t need a bunk. Â I’ll be in an open boat (Outrage). Do I need to do anything else to sign up officially?
