Chris, you are not wrong. I am now using the Werner Surge and it pulls hard! It’s my favorite paddle yet.

Yes, unfortunately they never made it to the market… haha… So basically my review is a tease, sorry.  I’ve been using a Werner Powerhouse again… Not as durable as the Eminent, but it lasted me longer than I expected.  Yesterday I recieved my new Werner Surge. I’ll use it for a bit and post a review on it as well..  The colors are poppin’, it’s a bit weighty, but i think it’s going to pull nicely.  The blades are huge.  Review to come.

Hey, I’ll take that off your hands if you still have it.  I’ll send you a text.

I went to Highschool with Blake and sent him here – someone give him a hand if you can since he just missed the clinic.  Cheers!

I’ll let Chris explain, but in case he doesn’t – Tombstone = back ender…  if you go slow enough through a hole or slower moving current, the faster current from behind will grab your stern and push it under water sending your bow into the air. basically like doing half of a backflip.   Chris moved his seat forward shortly after posting this and has enjoyed the boat much more.  It’s his boat of choice to this day.

Hey, man. I’m not usually one to hate on a brand, but the price is low for a good reason. From my experience Stohlquists drysuit delaminate quickly and will only keep you comfortable for a couple of seasons. Others may have a different experience, but I’d recommend checking out immersion research or kokotat. IR is more reasonably priced, and I like my Arch Rival drysuit, but I know everyone loves Kokotat and their warranty. The more you spend now, the less you’ll spend replacing it down the road. Cheers.

Interesting.  I wonder if this will make the dam more runnable than before.. Could be a silver lining in there somewhere for paddlers.

Ive paddled the medium, which I liked, and now the small which I love. He makes the large look like it was meant to glide. You’ll like it. Scoot the seat forward and pad out the hips. Adjust the thighs until you feel like you won’t fall out. Enjoy.

Nice video work Chris! Thanks for the great run.

The bungee jumpers that were screaming at heights as low as 20 feet above our head gave us the feeling that we were in a recreation hot spot at the beginning of our run. This run is absolutely beautiful and like many others in that area, is perfect for those who like low volume, narrow runs with obvious lines. Would recommend to a class IV capable friend.

“…Pulled some spider man moves and…. PUSHED HIM IN FURTHER, MUAHAHA”

      Thanks for video chris.

For anyone who may paddle this over the next few seasons, if the logs are still there, stay right at the 2 islands.  Scout anything you can’t see.  Remember to breath between giggles.

      Hi John,
You’re welcome to use our Pyranha Recoil (S) w. I also have a small/medium PFD, and a skirt which will probably fit. I’ll have you know that the boat is for sale and if somebody wants to buy it before the clinic, it may not be available. I have paddle pants with a torn ankle gasket that may be a bit too large, but by all means, borrow those too. I also do not know at this time whether or not I will be able to make it to the clinic, so the gear may need to be picked up in Carbondale or other arrangements can be made. Let me know if any of this interests you.
