In my opinion it’s hard to beat the Sweet Rocker Full Face for comfort and protection. They are a bit pricey, but afterall it is your head. You can catch them on sale periodically, especially if you’re are open on color. Backcountry has a blue one on sale right now for $215.00. I wear a size 7 hat and the M/L fits fine.

I wore a Moment for a number of years with good results. Took a big hit while upside down on the Upper Nanty which resulted in a large bump on my head under the helmet. Obviously it did it’s job because I’m talking about it. I went to the Sweet after that.

      Good luck with your decision.

Adam – so sorry to hear this shocking news. Tim was s great guy to boat with and hang around with afterward. He was the first one I went to when I bruised my ribs in the SE trip this spring, because I knew he’d have my back if needed.
Unfortunately, I can’t be there tomorrow but please share my condolences with his family.

Any ideas for Friday boating yet? I’m heading to Nashville tomorrow for work then to Chattanooga. Trying to decide where to stay Thursday night for Friday boating.

We’ve lost a class act in Gary. Always with a smile, always willing to help others and always a pleasure to boat with. He will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Thank you to the MWA. This is very generous and is greatly appreciated. Anyone considering taking a Swift Water Rescue class should take note. It was a good price to begin with and now it’s an absolute bargain.

Is the Chattooga still the plan for Friday? We’re leaving sometime tomorrow mid-day and may just head that way.

Di – call me to let me to let me know when there’s a final decision and we can alter our course if needed. three-one4 – 3 nine 88 two zero 8.
      Thanks,

Jason – you might consider the Tuckasegee at Dillsboro. It’s not far from NOC. It’s a good class 2 without the Nanty’s cold water. Just put in below the first rapid from the same location.

Is it possible to put this link on the MWA banner where the old level information was?

GAF is filling up quick this year. Put Bob and “Shirtdana” Henderson down for Fri & Sat. Is there room available for Fri? Let me know and I’ll send a check.

georgieporgie – I agree the deals aren’t quite what they used to be but don’t forget to check out the oufitter’s store for bargains. Sometimes you can pick up a new item for slightly more than used gear at the swap meet. I was lucky and got a new Werner paddle for less than was being asked at the swap meet.
