Right-o, Jim. Right-o. Maybe they weren’t bad jokes, per se but from the groans in the audience… 🙂 Was good to see you and everyone else.

I am going to get banquet tickets at the races. My son and I are going to be there. Is it going to be like it was in the past where there is a booth and we just pay cash there?

I disagree. the Vermilion is not on par with the Saint but it’s not a true WW river. It’s a nice float with a few minor rapids. WildCat is the signature rapid and the guy above is right. There was a rock slide and you should scout it. but beyond that, the river is class I-II. There are a few good wave trains, a few good squirt spots and a nice hole at certain levels. If you are bored, it’s another river to check off your bucket list. And you are close to the Yorkville artificial course which is a class II run. Not hard either but it’s a way to spend the day.

Okay, either way, I want a shirt or two. Hoping to hit the Saint on the 4th of March which is my birthday.

My first boat was a MicroX and I loved the thing. There was a time, back in the day, that many of the MWAers all had Extremes or other Wavesport boats. I remember the Frank, the X, Y and Z. I was only big enough for the Frank and the X and loved them. I remember bumming people’s EZ and having a great time on the Ocoee way back when. And I remember the debate of crosslinked plastic at a time when people were swapping boats nearly every year. Wavesports were always more heavy than others due to that plastic but nearly indestructible.
Bil….bo is right. The death of the company took place a long time ago but still, it’s sad. Many of the gear and the boating companies that were big when I was a newbie or paddling a lot are gone. Perception. Wavesport (now). Rapidstyle, etc.
Amazing to see the rise of the kayaking industry and then nearly meteoric fall. Yes, there are still a lot of boats but it’s nothing like it was back in the mid to late 1990s when Riot, Wavesport, Perception, Dagger, and yes, even Savage, were all competing to make the most insane boat.

Post the site or the address so those of us from out of state could send stuff in. Never hurts to see that people are traveling hundreds of miles for a campsite.

I’ve got a wet suit now but the paddle might be ok. Let’s talk via message so we don’t clutter up the message board.

I am looking to get a kids paddle. Is that one gone? And I am also looking for a splash jacket that might fit Noah, my son. He’s 4’2″ and about 53 pounds or so. He’s 9 but short. Anyone have any gear that might fit him that they are willing to part with.
