I’m planning a trip with a few friends from Louisiana. We are mainly headed to check out the new Oklahoma City park but want to swing through southern Missouri/northern Arkansas for some class 1-3 paddling. Never been to the area and not familiar with what is possible in early July. Keys would be flows, access/shuttling, scenery, and camping possibilities. Any suggestions/guidance would be much appreciated!

      cheers,

      Gabe

The Spring River on the border between Missouri and Arkansas.  It’s the only whitewater river with guaranteed water in July.  Cold Class II with some Class II+ ledge drops.  Other Missouri float streams of interest are the Black river near Lesterville, MO, the Current River below Salem MO, and the Jacks Fork near Eminence, MO.  Good Luck and Have Fun.

      Will
