Last year I had planned a club trip to TN to Clear Creek and Daddy’s Creek in April. It was canceled last minute because of Covid. Hoping 2021 is better than last year and that we are all more prepared for Covid. I have made 3 campsite reservations in advance at Frozen Head State park for the weekend of 4/9 thru 4/12. I will be driving down…[Read more]

In 2018 TWRA changed the restrictions on Catoosa WMA in favor of more boater access. Daddy’s creek has been on my bucket list for a long time. With the approval of MWA board members??? and hopefully the sup…[Read more]

Finally get to paddle tomorrow. Bringing both boys with me. Anyone want to paddle Crane Pond? Would also be interested in Marble Creek assuming there are no Take-out issues and or Middle and Lower Stouts. I am open for what ever, but have never had the chance to paddle Crane Pond before. Can meet at 10 am.

The race coordination and volunteers were outstanding. BUT, the race program, which I didn’t even seen until i got home, was icing on the cake. Bling and Company did an outstanding job. What a great way to commemorate everyones hard work over the years. I read it cover to cover and then looked at all the photos again and again. The indi…[Read more]

Still can’t figure out why the video doesn’t show up instead of just the link. It used to work for me.

For all you adrenaline junkies out there, it doesn’t get much better than this. I got to do this with my wife a couple of weeks ago while on vacation in New Zealand. It was my favorite part of the trip.

They are expensive as everyone knows. I bought a stohliquist. It is one of the lesser expensive ones on the market. $700-$800. I really like it. It has a relief zipper. Has kept me completely dry. I have used it for the last two years. Still in good shape.

Really great edit. The canyon is really an awesome place to paddle. I will be down there Mid March to paddle the Upper Two on down. Still don’t think I am ready for the Suicide Section. Too bad you guys didn’t get to Paddle Johnnies Creek. I would enjoy watching that video. I’m sure you would love it. Still don’t understand why more MWA fol…[Read more]

Here is some prior paddler history about TE from Mountain Buzz.

It is really not the elbow that is of concern in paddling. It is the grip. When I paddle water with a lot of pucker
(like the Gauley) I definitely over grip (non-stop). That along with a stiff pad…[Read more] -

As some of you know I have been fighting this injury since last year. When I first learned about TE, most websites said Recovery 12-18 months. That sounded ridiculous, but here I am 14 months in and I am still recovering. Injury began last year Oct 3-4 at the Gauley. I had a brand new Werner Sidekick paddle (really stiff). I got my first cort…[Read more]
