When we got off at 1:30 the bridge level read -2″. HOWEVER it was obvious when we got there, with the gauge at zero, that is was much higher. When I got to MS I looked at familiar rocks and indeed- it was 2″.

Ryan C came up with the explanation. The river has widened and the level at the bridge has consequently dropped and reads too low now.  So any “D” report add at least 2″.

The level listed above is about an inch or more too high.
