Good News for the Trail!

I received a call from US Forest Service employee, Chris Woods. They are applying for a federal grant to redo the Turkey Creek Bridge, move the trail out of the flood plain above Turkey Creek and fix some problem areas between Turkey Creek and the Take-Out. As with most grants, this won’t happen overnight, but we can look forward to a better trail in a few years. If by chance they do not get the grant, I asked him to let me know if he’d like some volunteer help. I’ll keep you all posted on that front.

Good to hear the trail is getting attention, but I’m going to have to agree with Chuck. The trail just upstream of Turkey Creek needs to be  rerouted as it sits low and retains too much water.
