  • Twenty hardy (foolhardy?) paddlers and several supporters braved the icy roads to attend the pool slalom on Sunday.  For some of us, maneuvering around the stalled and stranded cars on the highway was much more challenging than negotiating the pool slalom course.

68 timed runs were recorded with Joe Sartori logging the only sub-2 minute runs.  R…[Read more]

  • This year, the pool slalom will be held on Sunday, February 10 at the Mehlville High School pool

Course setup will be at approximately 7:30 AM.  We have a simplified gate system so it should go quickly.  After that the course will be open for practice runs.  Racing will start at approximately 9:00 AM

Racing will be in order of sign-up, and in th…[Read more]

The reason for the difference is that this particular USACE graph is stuck at 0900 Nov 7.  This graph constantly has problems with dropping offline or missing readings from the gauge.

The NWS graph is generally more reliable though you can see it is currently missing data from Nov 6 to Nov 8.

This USACE Roselle graph below is more reliable.…[Read more]

  • Location:  the pool (building 63) is in the building with the gray roof, next to the building with the brown roof (the gym).  It’s on the west side of the hospital complex.

  • All sign up is on race day.  There are some Team River Runner boats and paddles at the pool, but I don’t know specifically what models they are.

  • The pool slalom is on – Super Bowl Saturday, Feb 3.

The building should be open at 7:00-ish for us to start setting up the course.  Any help would be appreciated.  The faster we get set up, the faster we can start racing.  Generally the course is ready around 9:00.  We will have some practice time – maybe 30 minutes, then begin timed runs…[Read more]

  • As far as I know, we have approval from the VA to hold the pool slalom on Super Bowl Saturday.

The usual schedule applies.  Setup ~7:30-9:00, practice runs for a while, then race until you are tired.  Volunteers needed to help set up and time.  (Racers are expected to help also.)

    More details to follow.

  • 2 more Monday slackerz made two runs today (one upstream, one downstream).

zero at 1100 hours, -3″ at 1600 hours.  Guess we used up all the water.

  • Matt,

Your description fits the bag I found.  I’m not sure of the next time I will be down at the river.  I’ll be at the Clinic if you are going to be there and can wait that long.  Otherwise, I live near the airport – we can arrange to meet somewhere.

PS:  Sorry, but I gave away the granola bar in the bottom of the bag – that was the only thin…[Read more]

  • Found on river right downstream of Cat’s Paw (where people often stop for lunch) Sunday April 2:  dry storage bag.

It was rumored that someone posted a message about it on the club Facebook page but I couldn’t find the message.  I never look at the Facebook page anyway so please post here and I will respond.

  • Freddie,

The Perfesser should have saved a tshirt for you.  If you want more than one, let us know so we can include them in the order for additional shirts.  They are 100% cotton.

  • Race results have been finalized and will be posted under “Competition” shortly.  Excel and pdf files will be available for download.

Disks for medals are on order and will be mailed out in a couple of weeks.  Medals not picked up will also be mailed then.

Thanks to the timing/scoring/start/finish volunteers and all other race volunteers too!
