Solo Canoe: To Splash Plate or Not To Splash Plate

  Do you have a solo whitewater canoe with a splash plate (length approximately 36” per ACA rules) mounted right behind the bow deck plate (length approximately 7”)?
  
  If you do, what do you think of it? If you chose not to have that extended splash plate, why did you make that choice? I’m asking for pros and cons here.

  I’ve been an open boater for over 25 years and I’m not sure what you are asking about.
