Boats can be hit or miss. A lot of Americans flights into Veracruz are on smaller jets. Upgrade to 1st class. Gear and boats fly free. I have only paddled with Esprit Jim Coffey. Out of Jalcolmulco. They pick you up in Veracruz. They are a world leader in Adventure Paddle Travel. They have a wide selection of boats. Wrap paddle blades with Cardboard and put name and flight info on both ends. Do not close cockpit or carry anything inside. We did years ago, but nowadays they want easy access inside of it for inspection. Get prior authorization and pay in advance for taking your boat. Southwest is Kayak friendly however. With other Airlines, it is getting it past the check in Nazis. Only in the US. I have found other nations Check in people much more acommodating. Sometimes not even charging for the boat. Be prepared to pay for paddle as a separate piece. They do not treat it like skis and poles etc… Have fun ! Make sure they get you to the Alseseca Roadside section. You will never forget it. Esprit takes you on an overnighter through the Barranca Grande Canyon. Fabulous food and support. We have great water and weather here in the Caribbean right now. Leaving for a 17k run on the Yaque del Norte in 15 minutes.
