There will be an MWA trip on the 2 easier sections of the Russell Fork River on Friday, Saturday, Sunday (October 4-6).
This run begins below Flannigan Dam on the Pound River VA, Flannigan Dam to Bartlick Bridge https://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/1988/
and ends at Garden Hole Road, Bartlick Bridge (VA 611) to Garden Hole Road (Breaks Interstate Park) https://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/2011
This run is best described as “harder than the regular Nantahala, easier than the Ocoee.”
It is a long drive to the Russell Fork but the Fall scenery in the Appalachians more than makes up for that!
PLEASE let me know if you can sign up and go!

John, wouldn’t the Russell Fork Rendezvous be more interesting? October 25-27, higher release. Watch the Lord of the Fork Race on Saturday. Very well orchestrated weekend on the part of the BWA. You can still do the Pound and Upper Russell Fork to Garden Hole.

Bilbo-
I chose that weekend because 2 weeks after that I was also going to lead an Ocoee trip and wanted the easier Russell Fork trip to come first.
