Is it time to lobby the State of Missouri to purchase land at Silvermines and turn it into a State Park?
There are many pros and cons for this idea!
We already have one example of a whitewater river whose takeout ends at a State Park— Pickle Creek in Hawn State Park.
So what do folks think?
Are talking about the state purchasing land adjacent to the current National Forest recreation area? The more public land the merrier.
A former boss of mine attends the church in St Louis that owns the land where Lees Bluff is. They will allow the land to be used for education and conservation purpose and may even consider selling it if these use can be guaranteed into the future.
The accesses are about 20 miles apart here. Fishtrap hollow could be park and play?
