So I just got an e-mail from the National Park Service….
Seems that the jet boaters are lobbying to have me banned from the Ozark National Waterways due to excessive and reckless amounts of speed and power…

Careful you won’t be allowed to race by safety cause you can’t get your helmet on your head

Raymond, Did you fabricate your paddling machine or is it store bought? I have been know to reverse engineer a thing or two and make improvements while getting paid to do so. Unfortunately, I’m not so creative that I can pull a mechanical engineering idea out of my bum. I need a starting point

The rowing machine is actually a high-end kayak trainer that Chris Hipgrave had donated to the Nantahala Racing Club for the kids to use and train on. I just happen to have a key to their gym and get to use it 🙂
It really is remarkable how well it simulates kayaking.

I would love to check that machine out during the beginners clinic when I’m out there in May, if possible.
