Date for 2019 races

Fellow paddlers,

It has been asked by a few other paddlers/racers as to whether the date for the 2019 races were set, or would an alternate weekend be considered.  An option was proposed that the races be moved back one week for 2019.

In the past, the races were usually held on the third weekend of March; however, they have occasionally been held on the fourth weekend, and there will be 5 weekends in March 2019.  It would move the races further into spring, although the weather and water levels are still unpredictable from one weekend to the next.

I would like to know what our paddling community thinks about this possibility.  It will help us with the initial planning for next year’s races.  Please voice your thoughts to: racedirector@missouriwhitewater.org

Responses favored moving the race to the 4th weekend of March 2019, so races will be the weekend of 22-23-24 March.  Setup on Saturday March 16 (weather permitting).

Campground reservations have been made.
