Colorado bound in a few days.Staying at least 2 weeks. Going to paddle browns canyon for a while and then figure out what’s next from there. Looking for free and inexpensive camping areas(that take    close to browns canyon with trees and shade where a small 12 ft (16 ft including tongue ) can go.And dogs are allowed.Know there’s some free camping along ar. river but looks like there’s not shade. Want trees . Are there some with trees ? Would like some  USFS campgrounds in higher forest areas but don’t want too long a shuttle to River. Trip came up fast and  I need to be packing and don’t have time for much  research. Info and suggestions would appreciated.

I don’t know which sites will have shade and trees, but there is camping at Ruby Mountain  and Hecla along Browns Canyon.  We saw a lot of “campgrounds full” signs last weekend in CO.   But  you should have a lot more choices during the week-didn’t see many rafters or boaters  down there yesterday.
