went to nashville last weekend to pick up a new used boat i had been looking for (jackson villain). Figured if i was in the neighborhood, i might as well try to paddle the big south fork. in the neighborhood means 3 hours in the wrong direction from home, but what the hell.
I camped at the put in and waited for some paddlers to show up so i could tag along. It wasnt much of a plan. No one showed up all morning and just when i was giving up and driving away, a car pulled in with boats on top.
Luckily they were about the best guys i coud have hoped for. They said lets go without hesitation, and were very familiar with the river. It was a great level and lots of fun. I hope to go back soon.
