The 2021 MWA picnic is going to be at Silvermines this year.  The date will be Saturday, September 11.

There will be a float trip during the day (location TBD), and a catered meal at the Silvermines takeout pavilion.  Prices are being negotiated, but a ticket will probably cost $5-10 after the club picks up a portion of the fee for the meal.  If you want a meal, you will have to buy a ticket, as we have to let the caterer know how many will be served earlier in the week.  We are also looking into the idea of having liquid refreshments available as well.

Following that, we will have our annual business meeting at the pavilion.  Items of business will include the election of new officers and possible changes to our by-laws.

We tried to reserve the group site but it was already taken a month ago.  However, individual sites are still available or you can make other arrangements.  Many will be coming down Friday and staying through Sunday.  I hope to see you there!

Picnic is this next weekend, so see you there!

Float is like last year, with the same prices.  River’s Edge on the Black River.  $15 to haul a kayak, $20 for a canoe, and if you rent a canoe, it is $46.  We have to be there by 10:30, departing at 11:00 for the put-in.  We should be finished with plenty of time to get back to Silvermines for the catered dinner meal, which starts at 6:00.  You need to buy tickets by Monday, so that I can report the count to the caterer.  Tickets are only $5 (club is picking up the difference) and you can get vegan if you specify when buying.

Annual business meeting will follow the meal.
