We are just 12 days away from the start of the 50th annual Missouri Whitewater Championships. The festivities start Friday with the 4:30 Downriver Racers meeting at the Fisherman’s Put-on just above Millstream Gardens. The Downriver Race will commence at 5:00 pm and will end at D Bridge. We can all thank Tim Pheil for coming up with the proposal for moving the Downriver to Friday. What a great idea!! To celebrate Silvermines being the venue for the first Missouri Whitewater Championships, we are having a concert at the D Bridge campground pavilion beginning at 6:00 pm on Friday. MWA’s own Dean Zeisset and his band will be performing. During their intermission we’ll have the Downriver Race Awards Ceremony. A complimentary keg to adult beverage served in red solo cups will also be available for all weekend racers and volunteers. The Farmington VFW will also be on hand with their food trailer selling assorted cuisine and other liquid refreshments. THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT WAY TO KICK OFF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MISSOURI WHITEWATER CHAMPIONSHIPS!! HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!
