MWA Youth Meeting Aug 12 Topics

Hello! First of all… if you wondering if you should attend the zoom, the answer is YES!

We have a couple goals for the meeting

1) Brief overview of the purpose and need for the MWA Youth “Arm”
2) “Programming Brainstorm”
3) Needs of a Youth Kayaking Program
4) Ways to Contribute
5) 2026 Calendar

Parents – We want to know what type of events you would like to see – whitewater kayaking, non-whitewater kayaking, youth “camaraderie building”, and other whitewater/outdoor related. Be Sincere – what do you want, what do your children want, and what should the club offer. These are 3 VERY different questions, but I mostly want to know “what do your children want”.

Volunteers – We would like to know how you would like to contribute. There are SO many ways – Instructing (youth or youth parents), Supervising, Organizing, Fundraising, Researching, Promoting, Donating, Transporting, Designing, Marketing/etc.

It’s a big list, but we are not looking for big commitments. We are looking for synergies/efficiencies – think lubricating wheels, not building a cedar strip canoe.

Questions to consider for the zoom…

What’s your experience? What’s your youth’s experience (if appl), What are 1-2 events you’d like to see? How would you like to contribute?
