I’ve tried to ask some questions by emailing the clinic director link but I keep getting failure notices. Maybe an error in the email address?

Hello, RStrong83.  I will have WebMama check that out, but I did get several inquiries via that email.  Most were inquiring about 2020 clinic registration…which is OPEN  now until April 10 or until it is full.

Some inquiries were about layering for the sport and whether drysuits are necessary…I told them a drysuit will make their Missouri paddling experience much better because they can paddle in the cooler temps and layer with out cotton. Not having a  drysuits are not a deal breaker.

Shoot me a question here if you can because if you want to know the answer I am sure many other people would like to know too!

I did advanced clinic last year and I was planning to do swift water rescue this time  and was curious why it wasn’t available? In the absence of that possibility I was wondering if I could volunteer as a safety-boat in the kids clinic (my 10 year old daughter will be doing her first clinic this year)  What are the criteria for safety boaters? Thanks so much for organizing a great event!!

RStrong – RJ Forth & Dale Dortch are offering a Level 4 Swiftwater Rescue Instructor Certification Workshop in April.  See this Facebook event:  https://www.facebook.com/events/621692855338540/

There is further discussion on the MWA Facebook page.  It hasn’t yet been discussed by the Board, but there may be some limited subsidy available from MWA for this training (for MWA members).

This is an American Canoe Association Level 4 Swiftwater Rescue Instructor Certification Workshop. This course will be offered over two weekends on the St. Francis River near Fredericktown, Missouri. The Instructor Development Workshop is April 3-5th and the Instructor Certification Exam is April 24-25th. The course will be 40 plus hours of instruction. The cost for this certification course is $550.00 per person. For more information please feel free to contact me via email or phone.
