VA & TRR Kayak Outings – Last Tuesday (May-Oct)
Collaborative VA & TRR Kayak Outings, last Tuesday of every month, May-October, 9:30 am meet at put-in. Different location each month. Ending time depends on the venue. We share an optional lunch afterwards (pay-your-own).
TRR StL, the Jefferson Barracks Veterans’ Administration (VA) Recreational Therapy Department, and the Alpine Shop collaborate to offer community paddling opportunities. All paddlers welcome— veterans, their +1 person, & civilian support boaters. Participants must pre-register (link here), then the meet-up information will be shared with you. These events are TRR StL’s best opportunity to integrate VA clients into the TRR community. Great venues to practice and develop paddling skills:
- May 26: Waterloo Lakes
- June 30: Silver Lake in Highland, IL
- July 28: Washington State Park, DeSoto, MO
- August 25: Meramac River, Pacific Palisades, Eureka/Pacific, MO
- September 29: Black River, Annapolis, MO – All Day Trip
- October 27: Meramac River, Route 66 Park to Sherman Beach
