What a day! There were so many people on the river I kept thinking it was Saturday.
Strange levels thru the day…12″ at cat’s paw, but double drop went into 15 inches, then by take-out at 5 pm it was 11 inches.
We’ll try it again tomorrow- D at 1 pm.- This reply was modified 8 years, 9 months ago by McChuck. Reason: As TV's have become flatter, people have become rounder...whatgives?

Yeah!
Still going up- but remember, the level reading at 72 takes at least 2 hours to get to MS.
Yesterday I put in on the crest at 72 and rode it down, and even though I was going really slow and enjoying the solitude and nature (eagles and egrets, turtles, water snakes, etc.) I still had to wait a bit for dbl drop to go to 15″.
So it’s 9:15 now- the 15″ that registers now, will not be at MS until 11….and if it peaks higher…..icing on the st fran cake!- This reply was modified 8 years, 9 months ago by McChuck. Reason: If I learned anything from Peter Pan- it's okay for your dog to watch the kids while you go out and party!

Very happy to report that I put goggles on Cody right after Jerry left, so he could actually see what the paddle blade was supposed to do. First attempt he had the boat 90 degrees but fell back. second attempt he got a beautiful solid roll, and he then proceeded to literally roll down the river- stopping to roll at every available deep spot. I think he counted 25 rolls in a row.
Cody Maple- new boater from Farmington- ready for it all.- This reply was modified 8 years, 9 months ago by McChuck. Reason: Unexpected intrusions of joy and beauty- that's what life is

Di and I will probably be there in the afternoon- about 2 pm. Wish I could be more specific, but we have honeydew jobs. The river today will be about 2″- which is a good play level. I’ll pick 2 inches over 5″-13″ range any day!(Yes double drop wave is gone- but there are 5 better surfs waves before you even get there.) Plus multiple 360 play spots, and rock wheel rocks.
The water is almost too warm.
As Jerry said- the trail is pretty open (some stinging nettle we have noticed).- This reply was modified 8 years, 9 months ago by McChuck. Reason: Nascar= the act of turning left for 4 hours

I think Jerry makes the best point of all regarding MDC. It depends on the officer you meet up with.LOL
The one I met who promised to call if it was “illegal” and didn’t, was spraying very concentrated weed killer, next to the river to “eradicate” invasive species…. and as I ran the trail a few days ago- I noticed a huge autumn olive, chock full of berries, right next to the bridge over the creek, as well as everything else, growing everywhere…..- This reply was modified 8 years, 9 months ago by McChuck.
