      The cumulative total keeps showing 0.24 inches of rain every 6 hour period.  It would be nice if it were true but ……

      This particular gauge has done the same thing 2 or 3 times in the past.  One time, the .24 inch/6 hour reading went on for 3 or 4 days.

      Ross, the USACE guy, thinks a spider built a nest on the tipping mechanism ….. sounds like he’s had experience!

      The gauge should be fixed in a couple of weeks.

      are you sure there isn’t an automatic sprinkler systems near that gage, that puts the same amount of water in the gage mechanism every 6 hours?

      unfortunately, when they turned the sprinkler off, I think they turned off the whole gage.

      now it reads no precip at all???
