| ChrisM | Comment I have both NRS Mambas and Hydroskin Mambas. The regular Mambas are made with thicker neoprene and are much warmer.
The Hydroskin Mambas are made of thinner material and are OK but definitely not as warm. They don't seal as well along the shaft and allow more water to leak into the pogies. They're OK for cool spring days but I wouldn't recommend them for winter use. I don't have any experience with the Motion Mambas. They look like they would be warm and the shorter gauntlet would probably make them a bit easier to get into. However, I am not a big fan of fleece lining inside pogies because when water gets inside (and of course sooner or later it will) the fleece soaks up and holds some of the water which tends to keep your hands cold. I don't know if these would do that - it would depend on how thick the fleece lining is. With a neoprene or nylon lined neoprene interior, the excess water runs out and your hands warm up faster. |

kayakcono![]() | And if you really want warm hands.... Try the Snap Dragon, Hypalon - Hyper Hands pogies. Warm, and tough with easy entry/exit. Warmest I've ever used, and the Hypalon (Raft material) does not absorb any water. Not to steer you away from the Mambas--- just an FYI. They do cost about $45, but well worth the xtra $$'s.....
