Five Ten Water Tennies (2011)

The new Water Tennies are available. I ordered mine from Rock/Creek with free shipping.

(This is kind of a continuation of the Shoes ... thread.)

They are pretty low profile and remind me of a cross between wrestling shoes and climbing shoes. They have laces instead of the buckles like the old Water Tennies. However, the laces have a smaller diameter than regular shoe laces, making the laces easier to stuff into the shoe in an attempt to keep them from tangling on footpegs, etc. inside a boat.

I haven't been able to get them on the river yet, but in my living room the soles seem stickier than the other river shoes I've tried on. (The soles squeak more on hard floors when I twist my foot.) Hopefully this will translate into stickiness on wet river rocks.

I may not be able to try them on the river for a while, as I'm working on a couple of projects on the house. If someone tries them out, please let me know how they do.
