Operation Clean Stream Sat. Aug. 28th
Operation Clean Stream: Saturday August 28th

The MWA members will assist Operation Clean Stream in the cleanup of the Meramec River on Saturday August 28th. We will clean the section of river from Sappington Bridge put-in to the boat ramp at Meramec State Park. This is a fun family float along with a good way to keep the river clean. Bring trash bags and gloves. All paddle craft are welcome. We will meet at Sappington bridge put-in at 9:00 AM and arrange our shuttles. We should be off the river by 2:30 PM. The Operation Clean Stream people will provide a BBQ at the park pavilion after we get off the river. Call or e-mail Mark Wehking if you plan on attending so we can have a head count for the BBQ and T-shirt sizes. Mark’s e-mail is (mcwehking@accessus.net) and his phone number is 636-391-9753.

To get to the put-in at Sappington Bridge go west on I-44. Take exit #225. Go left over the highway then turn right on the east outer road. Trun Left on highway D. Be aware that after you turn on D from the outer road you will run across the intersection of Sappington Bridge Rd after a short distance. Do Not turn at this point, but continue south on D for several miles until you see the Second intersection of Sappington Bridge Road right after you pass Pin Oak Ln. Turn left on to Sappington Bridge Rd. Follow Sappington Bridge Rd. until it ends at the parking lot of the Conservation area put-in.
