OK folks. I want to stop using my Dagger Crossfire and get something shorter.
Wanted an RPM, but most listed on BoaterTalk are asking $450. So figure I should consider some other used boats.
What should I consider? Are there any other displacement hull boats made in the last ten years for whitewater? If I have to get a planning hull, what will feel less strange to an old-school boater? I am about 180 pounds and have big feet, and have not rolled in a rapid since 1974, so a boat easy to roll makes sense.

antiguide![]() | Old School Boat Suggestions? Wanted to get a Dagger RPM, but not much for sale on BoaterTalk and seem expensive.
Any ideas for other displacement hull boats, easy to roll but shorter than my 11' Crossfire? __________________ Clinton Greene |

JFoster![]() | Um Buy an RPM new. Dagger still lists them. __________________ To live well, to misbehave with style! |

Bilbo![]() | LL Remix The Remix is about as old school as new designs are going to get, until they remould the Tornado just for Green River Races. The boat is comfy, long and narrow, easy to roll, and with some volume for self containment. There may still be a milk jug white Remix left at the Alpine Shop.

...until they remould the Tornado just for Green River Races. Not going to happen, unfortunately. Prijon announced they were going to this Fall before the Green race, but the mold turned out to be unusable. Dagger is making the Green boat, though. I think the price is going to only be $1050, low for a limited run boat. Alpine Shop may have a Tornado? Where at? I've been through both storage containers. Figured I would have noticed it. It would be cool if they did. __________________ ![]() |

kayakcono![]() | Bilbo, I just read a Review (recent Paddler Mag) of the LL - REMIX 69. The final tally from 3 Boaters was :
* Manueverability = C+ * Stability = C+ * Speed = B+ * Comfort = A Not exactly stellar results. I would have expected mo from LL. The Pyranha Everest rated Straight A's in all 4 of those Categories ! And you get a free sponge shaped like a Pyranha !! Freddie |

Bilbo![]() | Curtis, they have a LL Remix at the Alpine Shop. I don't think they ever had a Tornado. I bought mine at River Madness in Springfield in 1996.
Freddie, the Remix was not put in the right category to compete with those other boats, because it really is a unique boat. None of those guys wanted or liked anything resembling an old school boat. BTW, Freddie, I have paddled a Rocker, and an All Star, but not the new ones. I just could not hear you Saturday night. Bill __________________ |
